How to format your Slack messages with mrkdwn

With Lowdown you can share custom Direct Messages and Channel Messages to invite your members to set up a digest. Here's how to add text formatting to your messages:

Text Styling

• *bold* will produce bold text
• _italic_ will produce italicized text
• ~strike~ will produce strikethrough text

Line Breaks

You can add a newline in two ways:

• Press return to create line break.
• Add \n in your text.

Lists

Add - Followed by List item name. You can create more by repeating this separated by line breaks.

Block Quotes

Add At the beginning of your quoted text.

Links

Copy the following and add your link and name how you'd like it to appear in your message <http://www.link.com|This message is a link>.
